Fine Pumpkin Portraits and other Weird & Wonderful Things by Joey Edwards

Fueled by a lifelong love of Fine Art and Halloween, Joey is passionate about carving custom pumpkin portraits that stop people in their tracks. Using knives, pins, and rotary bits to carefully remove surface material, Joey lets out just the right amount of glow from within to trick our brains into seeing realistic 3D portraits on carved pumpkins. It is a lot like painting with light, but with a little bit of spooky magic.

Since 2017, Joey’s brand EDWARDS PUMPKINS has specialized in hand carving custom, highly realistic fine art portraits of light on Funkins pumpkins. He has had his work shown up and down the West Coast from Vancouver B.C. to  Longbeach California and has been featured at events such as Monsterpalooza in Pasadena CA, Pumpkins Afterdark events across Canada & Texas, and at Rise of the Jack O’lanterns in New York. You can also catch him carving his pumpkin art live on Twitch.

Strikingly Realistic Pumpkin Carvings, Masterpiece Pumpkins

Masterpiece Pumpkins carves animals, faces, themes, lettering, and logos with striking realism. Gene (the Carver at MPP) who carves 150-200 pumpkins annually (a lot of them are Fun-Kins) has won several awards for his work including several Pumpkin Masters Pumpkin Carving Contests. Ever see the famous people pumpkin (actually they were probably Fun-Kins) portraits on T.V. around Halloween? Then there’s a good chance you’ve seen Gene’s work. In addition to custom pumpkin carvings, Masterpiece Pumpkins offers vintage carving templates & tools, pumpkin lighting options, and even Masterpiece Pumpkins original Pattern sets.

Many of the pumpkins that Masterpiece Pumpkins carves are Classics because they are the best for traditionally-sized carving patterns.

Masterpiece Pumpkins’s Gene Granata may be responsible for some of the famous faces, logos, and other carvings you’ve seen on TV and other media. We often get requests for carved Fun-Kins. If this is what you are looking for, MasterpiecePumpkins.com is a great place to look.
